What Do I Need to Do as the Customer to Get Ready for Our Hot Tub?
1) You must have a hard level surface to set the hot tub on. Reinforced wood deck, concrete slab, paver patio. Paver pads are the least expensive and easiest. Surface needs to be as level as possible! Hot tubs cannot be scotched up it will damage the tub.
2) You must hire an electrician to have the wire run according to our instructions and up to code in your area, to where the hot tub will sit at. We can recommend an electrician if you do not have one. The current average price for an electrical company to run your wire is between $1100-$2500.
What if I Am Not Ready for My Hot Tub to Be Delivered?
-Spa Doctors Has the Ability to Store the Hot Tub for You Even if You Are Not Ready. The Tub Must Be Paid for in Full to Store It Until Your Sight Prep is Ready.
-If You Are Financing the Hot Tub You Must Be Able to Take Delivery in 4 Weeks. We Do Not Store Tubs That Are Being Financed and We Do Not Hold Tubs That Are Being Financed Without Getting Approved for Financing First.
What if I Want to Recess a Hot Tub in a Deck?
- The buyer will have to sign a form understanding that if service is needed it is their responsibility to provide access to make the repair. Cal Spas or Spa Doctors will not be responsible for cost to do so.
- Spa Doctors Must Have Easy Access, We Do Not Crawl Under Decks or Deconstruct Home Materials to Be Able to Make the Repairs.
What Type of Wiring is Needed for the Hot Tub?

What Type of Wiring is Needed for the Sauna?
- A dedicated 20 amp circuit 120 volt standard outlet is required. All saunas will plug into a standard outlet and work fine as long as you don't have multiple high amperage items running on the same circuit or it will trip the breaker.
- Sauna cannot run using an extension cord, it must plug directly into an outlet.

- Labor and trip charge fees
Only trip charge fees occur if you are a certain distance from our store because the manufacturer does not cover drive time and fuel for any “warranty or non-warranty” repairs. If you have purchased a hot tub from Spa Doctors prior to today, your trip/fuel charge fee will not change until your warranty runs out. Using GPS, we now pre-route your address according to distance and the time it takes to travel there from our store location or where we are at the time.
Please use this format:
Trip fee 36–39 minutes — $80.00
Trip fee 40–59 minutes — $110.00
Trip fee 60–74 minutes — $140.00
Trip fee 75–90 minutes — $180.00
We do not travel over 1.5 hours for service. We will advise and send parts to the customer.
- For new tub sales, "only the trip charge applies" unless it is not covered by the manufacturer. If not, both the trip charge and +$140.00 per hour labor would occur. Trip charges start after 30 days of installation.
- This is only if service is needed!
